Energy and Utilities Review Projects
Energy & Utility Skills is looking for industry representatives to help develop and review National Occupational Standards and Scottish qualifications for the water and power sector. As the industry skills body for our sector, Energy & Utility Skills will be reviewing a range of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ’s) during 2025-26. The following products will be under review:
National Occupational Standards (NOS)
- Water Supply Distribution – includes the maintaining of the water supply network, ensuring water distribution, pressure and quality meet industry needs.
- Leakage Detection and Control – includes the detection and control of leaks in metered areas.
- Electricity Network Control Engineer – includes the activities required to work on the electricity network assets.
For organisations operating in Scotland, the following qualifications are also under review/development:
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ)
- Network Construction Operations (Water) Main Layer L5, Service Layer L5 and Repair and Maintenance L5
- Diploma in Water Distribution Control L5
- Designing Water Networks L6
- Network Construction Operations (Water) L6
- Controlling Process Operations L6
- Leakage Control (Water|) L6
- Power Operational Delivery Engineer [NEW QUALIFICATION] (Level to be confirmed)
