Integrate Blockchain with Enterprise Systems

URN: TECDT509404
Business Sectors (Suites): IT(Solution Development)
Developed by: ODAG
Approved: 2025

Overview

This standard defines the competencies required to integrate blockchain solutions and digital-trust components with enterprise systems. It includes analysing integration requirements, designing architectures, connecting blockchain with applications and identity platforms, and implementing secure data flows across on-chain, off-chain, Layer-2 and cross-chain components.

Professionals applying this standard enable effective, secure, and scalable interaction between blockchain systems and wider digital ecosystems. They ensure interoperability, apply security controls, manage identity flows including decentralised-identity and verifiable-credential frameworks, and support trust and resilience across enterprise environments.

This standard is intended for solution architects, integration engineers, and technical specialists responsible for connecting blockchain platforms to enterprise systems, identity services, and digital-trust frameworks.

Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. Analyse integration requirements to identify data-flow, trust-boundary, identity, and governance needs.
  2. Design integration architectures that connect blockchain, enterprise, identity, and off-chain systems in line with organisational requirements.
  3. Implement secure, privacy-preserving, and verifiable data-exchange mechanisms between blockchain and enterprise systems.
  4. Confirm interoperability between blockchain, identity, and enterprise platforms using recognised standards and protocols.
  5. Apply integration security controls to protect interfaces, identity flows, cross-chain mechanisms, and data exchanged across systems.
  6. Test integration components to confirm performance, interoperability, trust assurance, and privacy compliance.
  7. Document integration decisions, trust models, identity dependencies, cross-chain mappings, and resilience considerations in line with organisational requirements.
  8. Work with architects, security teams, identity specialists, governance groups, and operations teams to support effective integration.

Knowledge and Understanding

You need to know and understand:

  1. Integration requirements for blockchain and digital-trust components including data flows, identity interactions, and governance dependencies.
  2. Integration-architecture patterns including hybrid, cross-chain, multi-platform, and off-chain components.
  3. Data-exchange mechanisms including secure APIs, messaging layers, DID/VC protocols, oracles, and interoperability frameworks.
  4. Interoperability standards and protocols including cross-chain verification, decentralised-identity standards, and enterprise-integration specifications.
  5. Security controls for protecting integration points including authentication, authorisation, selective disclosure, API protection, and cross-chain safeguards.
  6. Testing techniques for performance, trust verification, interoperability, and privacy assurance.
  7. Documentation requirements covering identity mappings, trust boundaries, cross-chain dependencies, and operational constraints.
  8. Collaboration methods for working with architects, identity teams, security specialists, data-governance groups, and operations teams.
  9. Industry standards and frameworks relevant to enterprise blockchain integration and how to apply them.
  10. Sustainability and environmental considerations in blockchain-enterprise integration.
