Install window and door units in new build

This standard covers the installation of window and door units in new build. The learner has to prepare and position the window and door units in the prepared apertures and ensure that they have followed all relevant instructions and specifications. This involves checking the apertures, and ensuring the window and door components will fit correctly. The window and door units then have to be secured to the supporting structure. They have to be sealed, ensuring drainage holes are clear. Any holes and fixing positions have to be filled in, and all completion work undertaken and final checks made to ensure the doors and windows operate correctly, and that all keys are handed over.

This standard is for you if you work in the Fenestration and Glazing Industry and are involved in new builds and the installation of products into them.

17. record information on the work in the appropriate information systems
