Overview

This standard identifies the requirements when leading the promotion of housing opportunities for individuals. This includes promoting the housing preferences and needs of individuals and negotiating and agreeing housing provision with and for them.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. identify and agree the roles and responsibilities of yourself and others to promote housing opportunities for individuals 
  2. lead the provision of information on the benefits of housing opportunities and the impact of discrimination, oppression and social exclusion on individuals  
  3. work in collaboration with others who provide housing opportunities to identify and confirm what they can offer, the opportunities they can provide, and reasonable restrictions or adjustments required 
  4. empower others to work in partnership with individuals to review and identify available housing options to meet their preferences and needs
  5. provide opportunities for individuals and others to evaluate the potential benefits and identify and address challenges to housing options
  6. take responsibility to ensure risk assessments are reviewed or completed for selected housing options 
  7. work in collaboration with others to support individuals to secure and access housing opportunities 
  8. ensure systems are in place to support the evaluation of the process of accessing housing opportunities 
  9. ensure feedback is reviewed, identifying good practice and address any changes
  10. complete records and reports required for leading the promotion of housing opportunities for individuals
  11. reflect on how you carried out your roles and responsibilities to lead the promotion of housing opportunities for individuals
