Overview
This standard identifies the competencies you need to start up plant and equipment using hydrogen product.
You will inspect and start up appropriate plant and equipment, checking methods and operating conditions and complete start up quality checks.
This could include individuals working in the following industries; Chemical, Petro-Chemicals, Storage and Energy production and industries where hydrogen is used as a fuel or power source.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
P1. check that you have the required inspection instructions and that they are clear and in line with organisational and legal requirements
P2. check that you have the required operating instructions and that they are clear and in line with organisational and legal requirements
P3. wear appropriate PPE in line with organisational and legal requirements
P4. follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) for starting up plant and equipment in line with organisational requirements
P5. check that the plant and equipment to be used is in a safe and functional condition in line with organisational and manufacturers requirements
P6. follow organisational quality processes for starting up plant and equipment
P7. deal promptly with any problems that arise, reporting any which you cannot solve in line with organisational requirements
P8. completing quality and inspection documentation in line with organisational and legal requirements
P9. meet organisational requirements on recording and completing documentation in line with organisational and legal requirements
P10. recommend improvements to quality and inspection procedures in line with organisational requirements
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
