Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. Contribute to investigations into explosive substances and or articles

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 follow the research plan
P3 collaborate as a team member
P4 use all methods, techniques and apparatus in line with the procedures
P5 document and report all unexpected outcomes or incidents, as they occur
P6 pay attention to hazards and risks arising from the investigation
P7 report any delays, problems, hazards and risks experienced to your
manager
P8 document the details of the investigation and its outcomes in the required format
P9 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times

  1. Contribute to analysing research information on explosive substances and or articles

P10 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P11 ensure that the research information collected is accurate, complete and up to date
P12 apply correctly the analytical techniques
P13 confirm the appropriateness of the techniques with your manager
P14 collate, record and analyse information to produce justifiable results in line with the research objectives
P15 check that the analysis is correct, using accepted and valid techniques
P16 record the results of the analysis in the correct format
