Evaluate change outcomes
Overview
This standard is about evaluating change outcomes to support learning and improvement. You determine the information you need, gather and analyse evidence and explore experiences to understand what has happened and why. You communicate clearly, promote inclusion and shared understanding and collaborate with colleagues to support collective learning. You monitor the working environment, identify patterns and themes and develop actions that support improvement. You adapt your approach when conditions change and apply relevant leadership, management and evaluation theories and models to strengthen organisational learning.
This standard applies to managers and leaders at all levels across all sectors.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- Determine the information you need to evaluate change outcomes to support learning and improvement.
- Gather and analyse information from relevant sources to understand experiences, events and contributing factors.
- Analyse achievements, challenges and the effects and impacts of change to understand what has happened and why.
- Communicate in ways that support inclusion, dignity and shared understanding when exploring events and experiences.
- Listen actively to understand concerns, questions and experiences and use this insight to support learning.
- Evaluate concerns, risks and issues highlighted by change outcomes to support informed action.
- Identify patterns and themes that indicate opportunities for learning and improvement to inform future decisions and strengthen organisational practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to interpret information and support shared learning to build collective understanding and inform improvement actions.
- Adapt your communication and behaviour to support people’s participation in learning activities to enhance engagement and the quality of learning outcomes.
- Respond constructively to concerns raised by colleagues in line with organisational procedures to maintain trust and support collective learning.
- Monitor behaviours and the working environment to identify emerging issues, learning needs or factors that may affect improvement, and respond in line with organisational procedures to maintain a positive and productive environment.
